The Britain’s Got Talent 2014 start date has been confirmed for April 12.
If you've been ditching to know just when Britain's Got Talent is back on TV, we now know the new series will return on Saturday night, April 12 at 7:15PM, ITV today announced.
It means that for the first time in three years it won't battle The Voice UK in the ratings, which concludes with its live final on April 6.
Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden will all be back on the panel this year and this week Simon teased the first Britain’s Got Talent 2014 episode, branding it “amazing”.
Simon revealed the final touches were being put together on the opening show, tweeting at the weekend: “I watched the first episode of britains got talent last night. Amazing. I think you are going to really like it.”
Wannabes on this year’s show include a supposed dancing owl and one act that brought back even Simon Cowell (close) to tears
And of course there are the usual singers, dance groups and variety acts.
But this year's BGT auditions will see one big change in the form of a new twist: The Golden Buzzer.
The new format to the auditions stage will see a fifth, golden buzzer added right in the centre of the judges’ desk.
Pressing the special buzzer will see the act on stage sent immediately through to the live shows regardless of what the other judges think.
The act will win a guaranteed place in the live shows, with lights, music and of course glitter showering the stage in celebration.
We know a few titbits about the golden buzzer acts already, with one of them a salsa dancing act and another a singer.
