There were only three judges on the Britain's Got Talent 2014 panel at the weekend.
Simon Cowell was noticeably absent from the Britain's Got Talent filming on Friday afternoon as the final round of auditions took place in London.
The TV mogul had dashed to be by the side of his pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman who went gone into labour in New York.
Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden were left to complete the auditions without him.
Simon left the trio a parting note which read: “I’m sorry I can’t be here today. My son has decided to arrive early. You all have a big responsibility to find some great talent today without me.”
The BGT boss went on to welcome son Eric at gone 10PM UK time.
The very happy first time dad tweeted on Saturday morning: “Very happy to say Eric was born at 17.45pm [EST]. Healthy and handsome.”
However David had another suggestion for the name.
He teased: “Huge congratulations to @SimonCowell and Lauren Silverman on the birth of their son. They have named him David Sinitta Louis-Walsh Cowell.”
It's not the first time that Simon has missed auditions on this year's show.
The record label boss also had to skip try outs in Manchester after becoming ill, with hosts Ant and Dec filling in for the boss.
But the Geordie duo found it tough to say no and buzz contestants, with Dec admitting: "It was really hard because we’d been talking to all the acts backstage and we’re on their side, so to have to hit the buzzer you immediately apologise and say ‘I’m really sorry’.”
He added: “I don’t think we’ll be rushing back to be judges any time soon!”
