Britain's Got Talent would be pretty rubbish without Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon has admitted.
The former Strictly judge said this week that the series would probably have to be axed it Simon ever quit.
And to be fair, if the success of The X Factor in the past three Simon-less years is anything to go by, she's probably right.
"He's a valuable person to have on the Britain's Got Talent panel because people genuinely want to impress him, therefore he attracts a lot more talented people," Alesha said. "They want to come and get a yes from Simon, that shouldn't be overlooked. It's a respect thing.
"If people get three yeses from us and they don't get a yes from Simon, it breaks their heart. I wouldn't see a future without Simon on the show, because I think he's a massive, massive part of it."
Meanwhile, Alesha told reporters at the BGT auditions in London this week that she was planning to relaunch her music career following the birth of her first daughter last autumn.
Speaking to DigitalSpy, Alesha said: "Having a little girl, it's almost re-energised me. It's made me want to go back to doing what I love, because I want to set an example for her.
"I've got my hunger back again, which I think was put on hold for a little while. I'm feeling fired up again for music. I miss being on stage. That's where I believe that I should be."
The BGT auditions will air on ITV in the Spring.
