Britain's Got Talent 2013: Simon Cowell wants better animal acts!

Simon Cowell (Britain's Got Talent 2013)

Simon Cowell has called on animal lovers to get working on winning next year's Britain's Got Talent.

The music mogul was let down at the latest try outs at the weekend, which saw a string of useless animal acts take to the stage.

Amongst the flops were Patty the painting donkey, Melanie the performing raccoon and Yogi the dancing dog.

Last night saw Simon 'take to Twitter' to beg for better animal acts next year.

The music mogul tweeted: "If you are an animal reading this please rehearse for next years britains got talent now. A painting donkey was the best we got this year."

And he added: "Who was terrible by the way."

Meanwhile, in another late night Twittering session, Simon told hopefuls who audition for both BGT and The X Factor to channel their inner Beyonce... and One Direction.

"And for anyone looking for advice on who too look to as an inspiration when you are auditioning for one of our shows. One name. Beyonce," he wrote online, later adding: "And of course one direction. Who made it happen through sheer determination."

The Britain's Got Talent 2013 auditions conclude next Sunday night on ITV.
