Britain's Got Talent 2013 dancers Martin and Michelle have said they hope to win over us Brits!
The dancing duo wowed the judges at the weekend to sail through to the next round, but some viewers have complained about non-British acts competing in the scenes.
One tweeted over the weekend: "I’m sorry, they’re good acts and that, but why do they let foreign acts on Britain’s Got Talent?"
Speaking on the show, Martin and Marielle revealed they auditioned for BGT because it was far bigger than their own series in Holland.
Martin said: "Britain’s Got Talent is the biggest talent show in the world.
"We did some things in Holland and now we want to explore and show the world what we can do."
Simon Cowell replied: "I’ve always said we always welcome everyone from around the world on this competition and I think we’re very lucky to have you audition on this show."
Hitting back at the critics today, “We hope that the British public will embrace us... and not focus on where we come from.”
BGT boss Simon previously defended foreign acts on the series, saying: "I think it’s quite flattering that they fly all that way to enter this show because they see it as the flagship show, but it means our Brits have got to step it up now."
Although EU rules mean that producers actually have to allow performers from Europe to audition for our series, and vice versa.
An ITV spokesperson said: “We want to showcase the best variety talent that will entertain our audiences and it’s a testament to the success of the series that, following the global success of the likes of Susan Boyle, people from all over Europe want to appear on our show.”
Britain's Got Talent 2013 continues on ITV next weekend.
