The 20-year-old wowed the judges on last night's latest audition show with a performance of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables.
But it wasn't Alex's first time in front of Simon Cowell.
He previous tried out for sister show The X Factor twice before, but Simon gave him a no at the audition stages in an unaired performance.
"After that I went away and worked on myself and my image," Alex said. "Now I feel like I’m ready and that’s why I went for Britain’s Got Talent.
“I think I did enough to impress Simon in my audition, and hopefully I’ll be able to impress him even more in the next rounds.”
Now Alex also hopes to prove not only Simon wrong, but his school bullies.
He revealed: “My lowest point was when I was around 14. I was just really sad, because all I wanted was for people to like and respect me and my music.
“I didn’t tell anyone I was being bullied. I have shed a lot of tears privately over it."
Alex added: “The teachers saw it but they didn’t like me either — I’ve never had that kind of support in my singing. But I am very lucky I am a confident person and I do believe in myself.
“What has happened has made me a stronger person.”
Britain's Got Talent 2013 continues on ITV next weekend.
