Britain's Got Talent 2013: Robbie Kennedy claims The Voice UK can't make stars

Robbie Kennedy (Britain's Got Talent 2013)

Britain's Got Talent 2013 Robbie Kennedy has claimed that The Voice UK can't find stars.

Singer Robbie performed the Goo Goo Dolls track at his audition on Saturday night before sailing through to the next round.

Alesha Dixon gushed: “Robbie, you are so likeable. My heart is pounding. You just knocked me out. You have been blessed with a true gift.”

And Simon Cowell told him: "I wasn't expecting that, I think if you were to put that record out, you'd have a number one hit."

Speaking to us today, Robbie said: "While The Voice is good - I do watch it - but it's still such a new programme, I don't actually know what the outcome is for anyone at the end of it. I don't know anyone who's been in it and come out of the back of it.

"But with Britain's Got Talent, I know people who were on the show and are still going now."

And Robbie added that he chose The Voice over The X Factor because it allowed him to be more versatile with his performances.

"Britain's Got Talent is the show I want to be on because I like to sing with my guitar. I want to play my guitar every performance," Robbie said.

Simon Cowell was also a big factor in Robbie's decision to audition for BGT over rival shows, with Robbie adding: "With music it's Simon Cowell. He's the one who knows the music, he knows the music industry. I would stay Simon is the one."
