Britain's Got Talent 2013 favourite Alice Fredenham has admitted she cringed watching herself back at the weekend.
The singer performed My Funny Valentine for the judges, getting them and the 3,000 strong audience on their feet.
Simon Cowell gushed: "This is what I have been waiting for. Your voice is liquid gold. You could sing the phone book.
“I want to remember the day I met Alice Fredenham because I think you’re so special.”
Alice and her friends and family were amongst the 13 million viewers watching the show at the weekend, but she admitted to us today: "Watching it back was quite awkward for me but with all my family around I really enjoyed it, they were really proud.
"I'm just really happy how it all went."
Alice didn't tell anyone about her original audition and even kept it a secret for weeks after it took place, and when she eventually did let slip, Alice was rather brief on the details.
She explained: "I brushed over it a bit, I said 'I did this audition and I did quite well', I guessed they would see it eventually!"
The 28-year-old had originally auditioned for The Voice UK but no coaches turned - not that Alice is bitter.
"They had their own reasons for not turning, I'm just really happy that the judges on Britain's Got Talent had the reaction they did, each to their own," she told us.
And what will Alice spend the prize money on if she does win come the live final in the summer? "A mortgage would be nice," laughs the down to earth singer.
Britain's Got Talent 2013 continues on Saturday night on ITV.
