The Voice started its blind auditions last month, airing at 7PM and continued at the same time last Saturday night.
But the ratings for the show, which went head to head with Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway over on ITV, weren't too impressive.
An average of 6.5 million viewers watched the first two shows, down over 2 million on last year's figures.
This weekend has seen the Beeb schedule the show a little earlier at 6:45PM to get a head start on Britain's Got Talent 2013, which premieres at 7PM.
However next weekend will see The Voice moved to a completely new time slot of 8:20PM, and be shed to just 60 minutes.
Simon Cowell previously said he was confident his show would trounce the BBC offering in the overnight ratings this weekend.
"Ant and Dec beat them on Saturday and we’ll do everything we can to keep in pole position. We did it last year and we are keen to win again this year," he told The Sun. "May the best show win — as long as it’s ours!”
But BBC insiders have hit out at ITV for playing games, with one source saying: "This is getting absolutely ridiculous. It doesn’t serve the viewers."
The moving of The Voice around the schedules could see it lose viewers, but it may be a good idea for bosses long term.
Come the summer months when the live shows start, the later start time may well be handy with a lot of people outside enjoying the sun.
