Animal acts on Britain's Got Talent 2013 have proved a let down, the judges have admitted.
After Ashleigh and Pudsey's victory last year, there were floods more non human auditionees on this year's show, but none of them could match the champs from the previous series.
Although this year's BGT auditions did see quite a bit of variety in the types of animals people had been training, with dogs ditched in favour of everything from donkeys to racoons.
Speaking about this year's acts, Alesha revealed today: "There was one [dog act] in the auditions but it was useless.
"It came on and just stood there. My dog does better tricks."
She continued: "We did have a raccoon and a donkey turning up to the auditions. Mind you, they were rubbish too."
Amanda Holden said: "I mean, you couldn’t top Pudsey, could you, really?"
And Simon agreed, telling the Daily Mail: "Maybe there really is only one Pudsey. So it’s right that we should be looking in other directions."
Britain's Got Talent 2013 will start on ITV on April 13.
