Britain's Got Talent 2013's start date has been confirmed for April 13.

The new series will return on Saturday night, April 13 at 7PM, ITV today announced.

The show will overlap with The Voice 2013, which will start slightly earlier at 6:45PM on BBC One.

Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden will all be back on the panel this year and this week Simon teased the first Britain's Got Talent 2013 episode, branding it "amazing".

Simon revealed the final touches were being put together on the opening show, tweeting at the weekend: "I watched the first episode of britains got talent last night. Amazing. I think you are going to really like it."

Wannabes on this year's show include a dancing raccoon and one act that brought back memories for Simon Cowell.

BGT hosts And and Dec teased last month: “We had these guys on a trampoline and we thought Simon is gonna buzz this straight off. There were no buzzers.

“And he turns and says I just love trampolining. I used to go every Saturday. The image of Cowell bouncing up and down.”

Meanwhile, Simon boasted he was confident about BGT beating The Voice UK when the two shows go head to head on Saturday nights.

He told The Sun newspaper today: "Ant and Dec beat them on Saturday and we’ll do everything we can to keep in pole position. We did it last year and we are keen to win again this year.

“May the best show win — as long as it’s ours!”
