Britain's Got Talent 2013: Ant and Dec celebrate number one single!

Ant and Dec's Saturday night Takeaway

Britain's Got Talent 2013 hosts Ant and Dec have secured their first ever number one single, 19 years after they concluded their music career.

The talented pair reprised their alter-egos PJ and Duncan on last weekend's Saturday Night Takeaway, singing Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble as part of a performance with groups from The Big Reunion.

A huge social push over the last seven days saw the song rocket up the charts and this evening it was crowned the UK's official number one, some 20 years after its first release.

The song sold 84,000 copies in the past week, 64% of the track's total sales to date over the past two decades.

“Wow. This week has been crazy! We never expected such an amazing reaction to us performing the song on the show. To be Number 1 in the Official Charts is just unbelievable!" Ant told the Official Chart website.

Dec added: "To get a Number 1 single with this song 19 years later is very surreal, but we're genuinely chuffed!

"Thank you to everyone that has bought the single, as you are helping Childline, a charity that we are very passionate about".

The pair released three albums in the 90s, with a string of Top 40 hits, but this is their first ever number one.
