Britain's Got Talent 2013 judge David Walliams has confessed he feared the show could end his career.
The comic joined the panel last year alongside ex-Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon in a new look line up that also saw the return of Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden.
Despite already having proved a hit with the public, David admitted this week that he found signing up for the show scary.
He told Esquire magazine: “It’s a scary thing; I thought this could be the end of my career.
"It’s a show that has this huge press, so if you are not doing well on it, the press will devour you.”
In an interview in this month's latest issue, David also admitted he's insecure with his looks.
The Little Britain star explained: “I’ve always, always hated the way I look. But that’s OK, I’m a comedian, it wouldn’t be good for me to be vain.”
He added: “You know the best thing — for me anyway — the thing I love was being someone else. So when I would do characters like that, it was escapism.”
David will be back on the Britain's Got Talent panel when auditions return later this month.
