Britain's Got Talent is back in the new year, and David Walliams can't wait to be reunited with his Simon!
It was reported last week that David had signed up for a new £800,000 contract that would see him stay on the series until 2014.
He said on the Jonathan Ross show: “I’ve agreed to do two more. I can’t wait. It’s going to be a great series."
Speaking ahead of the open auditions next month, the comic admitted he can't seen Simon Cowell in a while.
"He phones me most nights in tears!" David joked. "No, we have occasional contact.
"The last time was when a girl sent me quite a funny fan letter saying, 'I don't like Simon Cowell, do you?' so I sent it on to him and then he sent me a fan letter in return from someone supposedly saying they didn't like me. But he'd clearly written it himself."
The Little Britain comic also rubbished reports that the show's producers weren't happy with his "smutty" jokes and jibes at Simon's sexuality.
He said: "There were stories that the producers were furious with me, but they weren't."
He added: "If they had been angry, they would have sacked me and replaced with Nicole Scherzinger or someone."
And David confessed he was jealous of the X Factor judges, with their live shows lasting 10 weeks compared to the Britain's Got Talent's 6 days!
"I'm doing it again next year, and I can't wait. It was so much fun. Now [cat]The X Factor[/cat]'s on, I get jealous of the judges," he remarked.
Chatting with us this month, this year's BGT runners up Jonathan and Charlotte told anyone with a talent to "go for it" and "have fun", as the new set of Britain's Got Talent auditions kick off.
BGT will return to ITV1 in the Spring.
