Celebrity Big Brother contender Duane “Dog” Chapman may not even make it into the house, due to issues with his visa.

The American reality telly star has been in jail numerous times, and authorities in the UK took some persuading to allow him into the country.

“To say he’s had a colourful past would be an understatement," an insider said today. “He’s been to prison so many times the Celeb Big Brother house will probably be easy for him.

“No housemate has ever had a criminal record quite like this."

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper today, the supposed source explained: "Getting the paperwork proved a massive problem.

“It was touch and go whether or not he’d be able to take part.

“It was only finalised at the 11th hour.”

Duane starred in US tv show Dog The Bounty Hunter, which ran for eight years before being cancelled earlier in the Spring.

“Duane is known all over the world and he’s an amazing character. He will pull in viewers and help boost ratings," the source added.

The new series of Celebrity Big Brother airs from Wednesday on Channel 5.
