The Geordie star has appeared in the MTV reality series since its start last year, but announced he would be quitting after the current run is complete.
He told MTV that he had decided to leave the show after choosing to settle down and stop the partying after getting serious with his long-term girlfriend Chloe.
He said: "I really enjoyed being part of the Geordie Shore family but now it's time for me to concentrate on my relationship."
He added: "I have a serious girlfriend now and want to spend time with her."
Writing on Twitter yesterday, Jay confirmed: "It's true I'm leaving Geordie Shore this series.
"I've had a mint time and will miss everyone loads. Thanks to all my fans! #adiosjay
"I can't reveal exactly what happens but all I can say is I go out with a bang! Keep watching on Tuesdays @ 10 to find out the story."
And Jay hinted he would be back on our telly screens VERY soon.
He hinted: "However I'm excited about my new TV Show!! Stay Tuned."
