Celebrity Big Brother 2012: Cheryl Fergison 'signs £175,000 deal'

Eastenders star Cheryl Fergison is set to appear on Celebrity Big Brother 2012 after reportedly agreeing to a £175,000 deal.

TellyMix revealed in March that bosses wanted Cheryl for Big Brother, after she expressed interest in entering the house or ITV's I'm A Celebrity jungle.

A source said today that Cheryl would now be taking part in the second series of Celebrity Big Brother, set to air after the Olympics on Channel 5.

“Her character of downtrodden Heather is so different from the actual actress," a source said this morning. “Cheryl is hilarious. She’s got a really great sense of humour and producers wanted to sign her up the minute she was written out of EastEnders.”

The Sun reports that Cheryl, who used to play Heather Trott on the BBC One soap, will be getting a huge deal worth £175,000.

Other names linked to the new series include Samantha Brick, former Bachelor stars Gavin Henson and Carianne Barrow and former footie player Freddie Ljungberg.
