Big Brother presenter Brian Dowling has said that he hopes to see more housemates like Denise Welch on this year's summer series.
Speaking as open auditions for the 'public' version of the show kick off, Brian told the Daily Star that wannabes needed to be themselves and lose their inhibitions.
“My ideal housemate would be someone like Denise Welch that completely immerses themselves in the house and forgets the cameras," he told the newspaper.
"You want someone that isn’t afraid to laugh, cry, bitch or have an argument. You want them to be 100% committed to it."
And he advised the auditionees: “To impress the producers and stand a chance of getting on the show, you have to be yourself. But at the same time you have to stand out and catch people’s eyes."
Brian, who won the show back in its second series in 2001, also said that hopefuls shouldn't expect to leave the house with a fulltime career.
He explained: “You can’t go into the house believing you’re going to come out a superstar or hope to get big deals on the back of it. The public like seeing real people in real situations.
“To make the perfect show you need a bit of romance, a rivalry and a drama – we all love a good catfight. From last year’s main show I loved watching Jay and Louise’s romance blossom. They’re engaged now, so love can be found on BB!”
