Reality star Katie Price has denied tabloid reports linking her to Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5, which starts later this week. According to the Daily star, former glamour model Katie was hired as a last minute replacement after another star quit the show.
A show source told the tabloid: “No-one saw this coming. The star that has quit was well up for Big Brother because of what it would do for their career. Now they have walked out.
“It’s a big shock and has caused a massive headache for everyone.”
The mysterious celeb who backed was one of 12 set to enter the house tomorrow, leaving bosses just 24 hours to find a last minute replacement.
“It was a bolt out of the blue. This star was really on board and very excited about going into the house," an insider explained.
“Then all of a sudden they had a change of heart. They have missed out on a golden telly opportunity.”
Taking to Twitter to dismiss the rumours however, Katie wrote: "I PROMISE everyone I AM NOT doing big brother I'm away with my family and I'm signed to Sky Living so impossible.
"People should know I don't lie so I'm telling you again I'm not doing big brother so drop it"
Other stars linked to the show include TOWIE's Amy Childs, former I'm A Celebrity winner Kerry Katona and US actress Tara Reid.
Celebrity Big Brother 2011 starts tomorrow at 9PM on Channel 5.
