Sarah Ferguson – known as simply ‘Fergie’ – the Duchess of York, has denied rumours that she's set to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house later this month. The Royal Family member insisted that she was never even asked by Channel 5 to take part in the new version of the reality series.
Fergie was shunned by the royal family after she made tabloid headlines when she asked an undercover journalist for £500,000 for access to her ex, Prince Andrew.
According to the Metro in July, Fergie was “high on the shortlist for celebrity guests”, with bosses having signed “8 out of the 11″ celebrities – including three “big” American stars – to launch the series later this month.
A source told the newspaper at the time: “They are offering big appearance fees this year to try and draft in some massive names.”
However Fergie this week confirmed: "No... I am not going on Big Brother."
And she added: "Never was asked and never would do it."
Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 will start in on August 18 and last for around 2-3 weeks, before a ‘normal’ version of the reality series kicks off straight after.
Brian Dowling has already been revealed as host of the main show, while Emma Willis will front new spin-off Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.
Stars set to enter include TOWIE babe Amy Childs, reality queen Kerry Katona and American Pie star Tara Reid.
