Big Brother narrator Marcus Bentley will be introducing the Celebrity Big Brother line up on launch night, it has been revealed. The role, which has previously been carried out by presenter Davina McCall, will see the Geordie voice over reveal this year's batch of stars as they make their way into the house.
It means new Big Brother host Brian Dowling will be doing little more than introducing the show during launch night.
Marcus said yesterday: "I am going to be to introducing the housemates coming into the house, normally it'd be Davina but that'll be my job now."
And Marcus revealed even he didn't expect Big Brother to back on telly quite so quick, just 11 months after it was axed 'for good' by Channel 4.
"I knew it would come back," he told BoltonFM, "But I didn't think it could come back this year, I thought it'd take a year off and come back in summer 2012."
The narrator of the reality series since the first show back in 2000 also suggested that Channel 4 regretted getting rid of the programme, saying: "It was so good the last series and I think if Channel 4 hadn't made a decision the year before, they'd have kept it."
Marcus previously said he couldn't stand the thought of anyone else taking his job. "Nothing would put me off doing the show,” he explained. “All you need are great housemates and amazing tasks.
“The thought of somebody else doing it would break my heart. I’m such a fan of the show. I’d do it hell or high water.”
