The star of Channel 4's surprise hit Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, Paddy Doherty is reportedly looking to settle down - for a few weeks at least - in the Celebrity Big Brother house. According to The Sun, the 52-year-old was signed a "big-money deal" to take part in the new series.
It makes a change from the recent rumours of Charlie Sheen and Pamela Anderson.
Irish gypsy Paddy became one of the stand out personalities on the Channel 4 series, which was watched by around 11 million viewers earlier this year.
And Big Brother bosses hope that he'll live up to his controversial reputation that has kept him in the headlines since January. One story alleged that he had half an ear chomped off by two cousins in a brawl. Last month his son appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
An insider told the tabloid this morning: "Paddy will have to get used to a house on Big Brother. But he is up for the challenge of doing the reality show and can't wait to get involved."
Other celebrities lined up for the show include Pamela Anderson, Kerry Katona, X Factor twins Jedward, The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs and The Saturdays babe Vanessa White.
Hustler babe and Playboy model Jessica-Jane Clement and X Factor finalist Wagner are also lined up for the new look series, which will be hosted by Brian Dowling.
However troubled US star Charlie Sheen yesterday denied he would be entering a house.
A Big Brother spokeswoman commented: "Executives are currently in talks with a number of celebrities, but we're not confirming any names at the moment."
