Channel 5 has reportedly paid £6 million to get troubled US star Charlie Sheen to appear on Celebrity Big Brother 2011. According to the Daily Star today, the former Two And A Half Men actor will lead the line up of celebs when the reality show starts later this month.
The telly actor made headlines earlier this year following his axe from the long running US sitcom, where he was reportedly being paid around £1.2 million an episode.
A TV insider revealed: “It would be unbelievable. A producer’s dream.
“No-one would want to miss the chance of seeing what he’s up to and hear the wacky things he’s saying. And let’s face it, he’s been saying some crazy stuff recently.”
Other stars already signed up are understood to include X Factor duo Jedward, reality star Kerry Katona, The Only Way Is Essex babe Amy Childs and 80s star Boy George.
The Saturdays singer Vanessa White, 90s singer Sonia, ex-Big Brother 7 housemate Imogen Thomas and disgraced Sky Sports presenter Andy Gray are also rumoured to be entering the house in just under three weeks time.
Boxer Mike Tyson ruled himself out of the show, but sexy BBC Three hustler Jessica-Jane Clement has apparently been drafted in as a last minute replacement for the line up.
A Channel 5 spokesman said today: “Big Brother execs are in talks with a number of celebrities about appearing on the series but we’re not confirming any names at the moment.”
Celebrity Big Brother, hosted by Brian Dowling, starts on August 17.
