US boxer Mike Tyson has denied tabloid reports linking him to the new series of Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5, saying he'd "never agree" to appear on the show, saying he had "enough drama" to deal with already. The American star was previously approached by bosses to enter the house next month.
The new series starts for the first time on Channel 5 in August and it’s set to be “must-see television” once again, with Mike Tyson previously tipped to head the line up of stars.
44-year-old Tyson, nick named The Baddest Man On The Planet, has a bad reputation both in and outside of the harsh sport, including convictions for rape and being a part of one of the controversial events in modern sports, biting off another boxer’s ear in one fight!
His last professional fight was more than five years ago now in 2005
Writing on Twitter however he confirmed: "I'm shutting rumours down 2day I'm not doing any Celebrity Big Brother shows. I deal with enough drama. I'd never agree to it.
"If there are any other rumours that need to be addressed. Hit me here and I'll let you know the truth! [sic]"
And he also denied rumours that he'd be taking part in the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, telling his followers: "For the last time, I am not doing Dancing with the Stars. I don't know where this rumour started but it is not true."
Big Brother launches on Channel 5 next week.
