The official eye logo for the new Big Brother 2011 series on Channel 5 has been revealed. The new look logo, a change from previous Big Brother eyes from over the years, sparks a the beginning of a new chapter for the reality series as it moves to a new home for twelfth year on the telly.
The series, filmed at the iconic Elstree Studios, will kick off with an all-star celebrity version, which will be directly followed by the ‘classic’ Big Brother, featuring members of the public. Despite reports to the contrary, the new logo - featured in full below - will run across both series.
The new branding will first appear on air from 23rd July in ‘teases’ during commercial breaks on Channel 5. Unlike previous eyes, designed by graphic expert Daniel Eatock, this logo was created by Channel 5’s in-house creative team and branding specialists Hello Charlie.
The Big Brother 2011 eye, a simple template complimented by minimal bright colours, will also feature in the new Big Brother advert, which was shot earlier this week in London.
Jeff Ford, Channel 5, Director of Programmes said this morning: “The new branding really jumps off the page for us and something that I think symbolises Channel 5’s values: straight-talking, direct and not afraid to be different.
"I am really proud of the work the creative team have done to develop the branding for the show, which will set the tone for the whole series."
Gavin Henderson, Creative Director for Big Brother at Endemol added: “The Eye logo is part of Big Brother's DNA. This new design moves the brand forward and perfectly captures our confidence in relaunching this iconic series on Channel 5.”
Big Brother on Channel 5 will kick off with a celebrity series starting next month.
