Big Brother narrator Marcus Bentley will be moving to Channel 5 to continue working on the show, it has been confirmed. With more than 40 housemates reuniting to film the a new advert for the show yesterday, Marcus today revealed he would be back as voice over.
Narrator of Big Brother since the first series way back in 2000, Marcus Bentley has revealed left Channel 4 this week. The voice over artist, who has worked on the channel for 10 years both on Big Brother and as a continuity announcer, spent his last day on air on Monday.
Marcus said it was "time to move on" from his job on the former home of Big Brother, deciding to follow the show to its new home on Channel 5.
Marcus said he was more than up for narrating what will be the twelfth series of the reality megahit, saying: “Nothing would put me off doing the show,” he explained. “All you need are great housemates and amazing tasks.
“The thought of somebody else doing it would break my heart. I’m such a fan of the show. I’d do it hell or high water.”
Marcus confirmed this morning on Twitter: "Right guys! I've waited since April to say this ... So here goes, I AM THE VOICE OF BIG BROTHER !"
We're glad to hear the news, we're not sure it would be the same without that gorgeous Geordie accent booming over our screens in the summer...
