Big Brother producer Katy Smith has revealed that live feed for the new series of the show on Channel is still "being discussed", despite previous claims that it would return. It was reported back in April that the new series would see an updated streaming system, with multiple cameras accessed from an online control panel.
Viewers were said to be able to choose which rooms to watch or which housemates to follow, but Katy told the Daily Star today: “It’s being discussed."
She added: "I think there is a definite bonus to streaming, but if it doesn’t happen there are always ways around it.”
Online streaming for the show was axed back in Big Brother 9, returning only for the final series last year.
Meanwhile Katy promised that the show would be "completely different" this year thanks to the season change. Previously Big Brother has always aired in the summer, now however the series will run from August until November.
“We want Big Brother to be fun and entertaining this year," she said, "We are used to seeing BB in the summer and CBB in the winter, but this year it’s going to be completely different.
“I guess the girls can still wear bikinis inside the house in winter. We’ll just pump the heating up.”
Big Brother starts on Channel 5 later this year.
