Brian Dowling has seemingly been confirmed as the host of the latest Big Brother series on Channel 4, according to reports. The Metro claim this week that the former Big Brother 2 winner has told friends that he'll be fronting the show when it returns later this year.

Davina McCall previously hosted the show when it was on Channel 4, but confirmed when it ended she wouldn't be reprising her role as host of the programme this year.

33-year-old Brian meanwhile has become one of the favourites to take over, having taken part in a number of presenting jobs since leaving the house back in 2001.

A source claimed Brian told him: "I've got the Big Brother presenting job in the bag. I'm not interested in presenting Big Brother's Little Brother."

However a spokesman for Channel 5 commented: "It is too early to confirm who the presenter will be for the next series of Big Brother on Channel 5 - we are looking at a number of possible names at this stage."

Other names linked to the role include former Big Brother's Little Brother co-host Emma Willis and former X Factor presenter Kate Thronton.
