Sources close to Channel 5 have reportedly revealed that Big Brother will be back in a little under two months from now, with Celebrity Big Brother 2011 currently tentatively pencilled in for an August 10 launch. The news comes as Channel 5 reveals a threefold increase in pre-tax profits.
According to Broadcast, new Channel 5 boss Richard Desmond is looking at making a lot more of the channel's content in house to cut costs. A source said: "It’s relatively easy to start, and Desmond could publicise the shows in OK!, the Express and the Star.”
Big Brother is currently looking to launch midweek on Wednesday, August 10 to help compliment a raft of new television shows, including Gavin Henson's The Bachelor.
Next month will see the channel broadcast its first product placement deal and it's expected the new source of revenue will be used to its full potential in the new series of Big Brother.
