Former Big Brother and Big Brother's Little Brother hosts Davina McCall and Dermot O'Leary have spoken about the show's move to Channel 5. The duo, who have confirmed they won't be re-joining the new series this summer, said the move would be good for the show.
Dermot O'Leary said: "In all honestly I think it's a great move for Channel 5."
While Davina added: "And for Big Brother because they'll be able to be so rude and that's what the show needed. It needed to go back to basics where they could say anything."
Channel 5 picked up the rights to Big Brother earlier this year after Channel 4 axed the series after 11 years last summer. The show will return in mid-August for a short celebrity run before the main normal series returns in September.
Big Brother 2011 auditions start today in Manchester, with hopefuls able to pop along and try out for the reality series.
