Celebrity Big Brother is over but how much are the housemates on the show paid?

Last month saw the first half of the Celebrity Big Brother 2018 cast revealed as eight leading ladies joined the house.

In what has been named 'Year Of The Women', CBB's latest run begun with a female only cast.

Those making up the line up included former MP Ann Widdecombe, Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Malika Haqq, Boris Johnson's sister Rachel Johnson, Ex On The Beach star Jess Impiazzi and actress Amanda Barrie.

They were joined by Made In Chelsea's Ashley James, newsreader India Willoughby and former Detective Constable Maggie Oliver, known for her work investigating the Rochdale grooming scandal.

Days later a number of men joined, including footballer John Barnes, Love Island's Jonny Mitchell, Boyzone's Shane Lynch, US rapper Ginuwine, The Apprentice's Andrew Brady and drag act Courtney Act / Shane Jenek.

How much are Celebrity Big Brother housemates paid?

As with many celebrity shows, the exact fees commanded by the housemates can vary wildly depending on their profile (and agent!)

It's understood that Ann Widdecombe is one of this year's highest paid celebs, with a reported fee of £100,000.

On the other hand, Andrew Brady is reportedly the lowest paid celeb with just £10,000.

The numbers are far from the highest fee given out over the past 20 series of CBB.

Previous huge payouts have included £500,000 for Jedward, £400,000 for Katie Price and £600,000 for the late David Gest.

But while some celebs are expecting big pay cheques at the end of the series, it won't be the same for all of them.

Fees for lessser known stars can be as little as £10,000.

Some of the lower amounts paid out have included the reported £60,000 given to contestant Winston McKenzie, a former member of UKIP, while Corrie actor Bruce Jones is rumoured to have got just £15,000 back in 2013.

And last year it was claimed that winner Stephen Bear had been paid only £12,000.

Celebrity Big Brother will return in the summer on Channel 5.
