Boris Johnson's sister Rachel Johnson has been confirmed for Celebrity Big Brother 2018.

And here's just why she said yes to the show, after repeatedly turning down past offers.

The Foreign Secretary's sister Rachel was today officially announced for CBB's new series next month.

Boris' dad Stanley Johnson recently took part in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on ITV, where he proved a hit with viewers.

Now Channel 5 has officially confirmed that Rachel will be a part of the new, all women Celebrity Big Brother line up.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 will begin with an all female cast in a brand new twist to the series.

And it was that change that got Rachel to sign on the dotted line.

"I'm going into the actual Big Brother House. For real. I know. Believe me, I know," she wrote in the Daily Mail.

Explaining why she signed up, Rachel continued: "I am a firm believer that you only regret the things in life you don't do, not the things you do do.

"I've never sat down and watched CBB in the way my children religiously binge-watch it, but when Channel 5 came calling, I didn't delete the annual email asking me to be on. It was because this one said that the new series was all about female empowerment and 100 years since women got the vote."

She revealed: "It was going to be called Big Sister (it's ended up being called Celebrity Big Brother: Year Of The Woman), with a 'classy' all-female line-up for the launch.

"Female politicians, performance artists, broadcasters. Serious stuff. Big names were duly dropped, and the emphasis on 'empowerment' rather than 'ritual humiliation' promised."

Right now Rachel is the only confirmed celebrity. Stars tipped to join her include actress Amanda Barrie, Tattoo Fixers star Paisley Billings and newsreader India Willoughby.

Other rumoured include The Apprentice's Elizabeth McKenna, former MP Charlotte Leslie, former MP for Bristol North West and Goggleboxer Sandra Martin.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 launches on Tuesday January 2 on Channel 5.
