TV presenter and former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Keith Chegwin has died.
The comedian passed away aged 60 following a long term illness, his family said in a statement this afternoon.
They said: "We are heartbroken to share the news that Keith Chegwin sadly passed away following a long-term battle with a progressive lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which rapidly worsened towards the end of this year.
"Keith died peacefully at home shortly after midnight on the 11th of December. His wife Maria, his daughter Rose and his son Ted were by his side.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Severn Hospice for the kindness, support and care they have shown us all over the last few weeks.
"Keith was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. We would respectfully ask to be left to mourn his passing in private."
Fans of the legend have been paying tributes to Keith online.
@AndyMartindale posted to Twitter: "Keith Chegwin was brilliant because he was just up for anything - never took himself seriously. That was what I think we all loved about him. What a terrible loss to entertainment. RIP Cheggers."
Veteran TV star Keith, also known by the nickname Cheggers, fronted a number of famous programmes in a career spanning many decades.
In 2015, Keith made the final of Celebrity Big Brother's January 2015 series which was won by Katie Price.
