Celebrity Big Brother bosses after 'classier' celebrities for next series

Celebrity Big Brother producers are reportedly after a 'classier' line up of celebrities for the next series.

It's been claimed that show producers are considering a special series when CBB returns to Channel 5 in January, with a line up of all female housemates.

The Sun has claimed that the women-led cast would be part of a season of programmes marking 100 years since women won the right to vote.

And bosses are said to be after a 'classy' line up of stars, inviting Baroness Michelle Mone to take part as they try to avoid "the usual D-listers."

However the businesswoman has apparently turned down their offer of £350,000.

“They offered a lot of money to start with and kept increasing their offer," a source said. “But Michelle has told them it’s a firm no. While she loves watching CBB, she doesn’t think the House of Lords would be overly impressed with her going into the other house.

The insider added: "She has always said she would happily go on Dragons’ Den if that opportunity arose and she quite fancies having a go at Strictly next year.”

Chatting on ITV's Lorraine earlier this month week, Big Brother host Emma Willis said she couldn't confirm the latest show rumours but gave the idea of an all women series her backing.

"I've read these stories in the papers but I haven't had a phone call to confirm anything," she explained. "I think it would be an amazing thing to do though.

"It's going to have been 100 years since women got the right to vote around that time and we now live in a world that is pro-feminism, finally! We deserve to be equal."

The CBB presenter added: "It's very interesting when it's just women. I think it would be great for the series to be celebratory of women rather than what people are assuming [you put a group of women together and they'll all argue].

"But we will have to wait and see if this is all true. These reports may have just come from somewhere and not be real."

Celebrity Big Brother typically launches the first week of January on Channel 5.
