After being sensationally booted off of The X Factor in the states and about to snub the UK version of the show, could a move to Big Brother be on the cards for Cheryl Cole? According to the Daily Star, Channel 5's Big Brother deal for Cheryl is still very much on the table....
Cheryl was given the axe from The American version of the singing contest yesterday after just two audition shows, due to concerns about her accent. While the Girls Aloud star has been reportedly offered place on the UK show, sources were keen to remind the singer about Big Brother's offer if she wanted to snub Simon Cowell.
“It’s a shock but Cheryl can turn a humiliating event into something good," source reveals. "If she doesn’t return to X Factor there is plenty she could do."
And what exactly does the source have in mind?
“Channel 5 bosses have said she’d be ideal to front the new series of Big Brother," they say.
We can't but feel such an offer will only run salt into Cheryl's still very fresh wounds.
The singer was originally linked to Big Brother 2011 back in March, but her publicist joked: "We thought the journalist that made up stories for the Daily Star had quit in disgust. Has he returned for today’s silly splash?”
He added: "Surely they should have waited a day till April 1″
Emma Willis and Brian Dowling have both been tipped to host the new series on Channel 5 this autumn.
