The first Celebrity Big Brother 2017 twist has got underway with a secret mission.

As host Emma Willis introduced the first celebrity housemate in tonight's launch - ex EastEnders actor Shaun Williamson - a opening night twist was also announced.

Shaun was set a secret mission from Big Brother as soon as he entered the house.

Big Brother called him to the Diary Room and asked: "Are you feeling nervous? You should be nervous. Big Brother is setting you a secret mission.

"You must draw upon your years of acting experience and you should transform into the most nervous housemate in the history of Big Brother.

Shaun Williamson.

"As each of your fellow housemates enter the house it must be instantly noticeable you're suffering first night nerves."

"As if nerves weren't bad enough, you'll be hearing voices in your head," Big Brother continued, explaining that he'd be fed instructions via an ear piece.

Over the launch night, Shaun's tasks included getting the housemates to cool him down with water and rubbing his chin.

He then had to pick a housemate to become his 'rock' and keep them by his side for the rest of the night, choosing Goggleboxer Sandi Bogle.

Emma teased that the twist would end with a nominations twist with. If Shaun passes, both he and Sandi will be immune from eviction but they'll have to pick two housemates to nominate.

However if Shaun fails, he'll not only lose immunity but will also have to nominate another one housemate for eviction.

Following Shaun's entrance, Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding was the next celebrity housemate entering followed by Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson.

Meanwhile the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2017 will receive the cash for a charity of their choosing.

Emma made the announcement at the start of tonight's launch show following an epic opener full of glitter and fireworks.
