Big Brother 2017 housemate Simone Reed's prison past has been revealed.
The 'Second Chance Housemate' has spoken in the house about previously spending time in jail.
She revealed to the group in a candid chat: "One time, I ended up in prison for a long time for the person I used to be.
“If I hadn’t changed to the better person I am today, I’d be back in there.
“I don’t fight, I’m not violent anymore, I don’t do harmful things to others, I’ve learned to walk away. I’ve not had a fight in 11 years.”
According to the Daily Star newspaper, Simone spent six months in prison after being found guilty of affray aged 20.
Her mum Shelly told the GazetteLive this week: “She’s gone into the house to reanalyse her life.
“At first she was debating whether she should even go in, because she knew this [her conviction] would come up.
“I knew it would come up too, but that’s not the Simone now.
“Yes she went to prison, but she was protecting her dad.”
It was previously reported that Simone's past conviction saw her kicked off The X Factor.
The wannabe singer auditioned for the show in 2014 but despite initially impressing, was given the boot over her past.
Simone is understood to have won over judges with her cover of The Power of Love by Celine Dion but was removed from the show because of a past conviction that left her in jail.
"I'm gutted I'm not through to the live shows," Simone said at the time. "I was told I would have got though but because of previous convictions and because I have been to prison for violence they can't take me.
"I was younger, I made mistakes but it's not who I am now."
Big Brother 2017 airs nightly on Channel 5.
