John Leslie is reportedly in talks to join the Celebrity Big Brother line up.
The TV presenter, who previously hosted the likes of Blue Peter and This Morning, has apparently been offered £75,000 to take part in the new series.
Leslie's star fell in the noughties following allegations of sexual assault - even though all charges were dropped.
A leaked sex tape with then girlfriend Abi Titmuss added to Leslie's woes, as work dried up.
“John was approached a few months back. He always said he’d never do reality TV but he now feels that he’s got nothing to lose," a source said this weekend.
They told the Daily Star newspaper: "Big Brother is known for its controversial housemates, and bosses can’t wait to get him in the diary room.”
The insider went on to claim that Leslie was hopeful of changing his fortunes around on CBB.
“All he’s ever wanted is to get back on TV and Big Brother have given him that lifeline. They also reckon he’d be brilliant TV," they said.
Other names linked to the new series at the time being include Donald Trump's ex wife Ivana Trump, TOWIE's Bobby Norris, Union J singer Jaymi Hensley and Ex On The Beach’s Chanelle McCleary.
Plus there's TV psychic Derek Acorah, wrestling star Hulk Hogan, Britain's Next Top Model contestant Talulah-Eve Brown, X Factor's Sam Callahan, celebrity tattooist Kevin Paul and Real Housewives of Cheshire star Ester Dee.
A spokesperson for Channel 5 said they did not comment on housemate rumours.
Celebrity Big Brother will air on Channel 5 this summer, following the upcoming civilian series which kicks off on Monday, June 5.
