A source at Channel 5 has told the Daily Star today that programme makers aren't after "show-offs" or "play actors" for Big Brother 2011. Auditions for the new series of the reality megahit, which will air in September this year following a Celebrity version in August, opened yesterday.
Hopeful housemates can either apply online or at one of a few open audition venues to be revealed at a later date. Channel 5's Jeff Ford said: "Channel 5 will bring a completely fresh perspective to the Big Brother phenomenon and, by inviting people to apply for the show online, we hope to assemble the most entertaining and captivating house yet.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the full array of applications, either online or in person.”
Last night a sneaky show source blabbed to the Daily Star revealing just what housemates producers were after. "We are looking for housemates the viewers will love simply for having fun and being themselves," the insider said "They have to be entertaining, lively and most importantly honest, not play actors or show-offs.
"Our search is to find the best set of housemates the public have seen to date.”
Big Brother will return to Channel 5 later this year.
