Big Brother 2017: 'Peru Two drug mules' tipped for this summer's cast

The 'Peru Two drug mules' Michaella McCollum and Melissa Reid have been tipped for the Big Brother 2017 cast.

The pair were released from prison in South America in 2016 after spending three years in jail over claims of drug smuggling.

Since then they have (somehow) become de facto Z-list celebrities and could end up in the BBUK house.

"Michaella has made no secret of her dream to become a reality TV star," a source told The Sun newspaper. "Big Brother producers have been chatting to her about getting her on the next series of the show, which is a pairs theme. "

The insider explained: "Her accomplice Melissa is less excited by the whole showbiz world but, because of the pairs theme, producers think they would be the ideal signing.

“They think the girls will help to stir up some excitement and chatter for the new series, as well as bring some glamour and drama.”

As was previously confirmed, this year Big Brother is looking for pairs of housemates for the new show in the summer.

They can be relatives, couples or just friends and a number of other potential housemates have been rumoured alongside Michaella and Melissa.

The Sun newspaper also reports that Playboy model Carla Howe and fellow model twin sister Melissa Howe may sign up for the show.

It turns out that Carla has links to many past Celebrity Big Brother housemates, including Jamie O’Hara, Calum Best and Ray J.

Another pair linked to the Big Brother 2017 line up are pals Dean Salmon and Adam Parkinson.

Dean Salmon is sister to Love Island star Katie Salmon and has already appeared on a few TV shows, including E4’s Carjackers.

Big Brother will air on Channel 5 this summer.

No start date has been confirmed yet but it's rumoured the show could be back in June.
