The current run of Celebrity Big Brother 2017 WILL end on Friday night, despite claims the series is being extended.
The latest Celebrity Big Brother series will conclude next Friday night (February 3), Channel 5 has confirmed to us.
It follows rumours that show bosses were hoping to extend the series throughout the rest of February.
A rather sketchy report by The Sun newspaper suggested that producers were planning to now end the series three weeks later on February 24.
“The All-Star format has done brilliantly this year, with so many different personalities bringing so much drama," a source spilled today. “The ratings have almost doubled since Kim walked through the doors and caused chaos in the house."
They explained: “Viewers are hungry for more action, so bosses are potentially going to push the final back until 24th February.”
According to the tabloid, celebs have an extension clause in their contract which meant that the series could last longer.
However they have the option of leaving on February 3 as agreed without consequence.
“Everyone has a contract which includes the option to extend their stay, however if they do not wish to continue after 3rd February, then they will be free to leave," the source explained.
But it doesn't matter.
Channel 5 have confirmed that there is "no truth" in the report and the final is this Friday night as had always been planned.
As it is, this year's series will be the joint longest ever at 32 days long, matching the record set by last January's run.
Celebrity Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
