Celebrity Big Brother 2017: Nightly live feed axed after 'fakery' scandal

The majority of live feed looks set to be dropped for Celebrity Big Brother 2017 next month.

It's certainly no surprise to learn that we won't be getting any 24/7 live feed, but now even the nightly instalments on 5Star have been dropped.

Celebrity Big Brother 2017 begins on Channel 5 on Tuesday, January 3 at 9PM with a two hour launch show as host Emma Willis introduces us to the new CBB line up.

At 11PM Bit On The Side airs, hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal, before the first live feed at midnight for an hour.

But the next live instalment is then not for another week until the next Tuesday, January 10, reports BB Spy.

The previous CBB series had seen nightly live feed from the house each evening on 5Star.

However that ended up proving controversial back in the summer when the live stream appeared to show housemates staging a scene.

On the penultimate night, the housemates were shown getting into bed before Big Brother told them 'good night'.

But the lights then quickly went back up as the housemates revealed they were only pretending to sleep.

"Great take guys," the group declared before Big Brother began to chat rather casually to the group about brushing their teeth.

The fakery scandal caused quite a bit of controversy with fans of the show, although it's not clear if this has anything to do with the decision to cut back further on live streaming.

The last Big Brother to air with a 24/7 live stream was the Ultimate Big Brother series on Channel 4 in 2010.
