Former Big Brother housemate Sarah Greenwood has been banned from the roads for drink driving.

Sarah took part in last year's Timebomb series on Channel 5 but left in the controversial 'four in, four out' twist.

This week she was handed a 17 month driving ban, plus a fine and costs after being caught over the limit.

According to the Daily Mirror, Sarah was pulled over by police last month after being spotted driving at 'excessive speed' in the early hours.

A breath test showed she had 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, coming up on twice the legal limit of 35.

The tabloid quotes Sarah as saying in court: “I am so embarrassed that this has happened to me. I don’t want to make excuses, but I was shocked that I was over the limit.

"I admit that I had drank two-and-a-half glasses of wine but I felt perfectly alright to drive."

Sarah told the bench that an excessive ban would force her to drop out of university, where she is studying for a degree in Law at the University of Salford.
