Celebrity Big Brother bosses DENY supposed voting figure leak

Celebrity Big Brother 2016

Celebrity Big Brother bosses have denied that voting figures for the series have been leaked.

A report over the weekend had claimed that voting details from the latest eviction on Friday had been revealed prior to the evening's live show.

The Daily Star newspaper had alleged that "sources" close to James Whale knew that he would be evicted at 10AM on Friday morning, 12 hours before the live show.

The tabloid claims that supposedly leaked voting figures showed James and Lewis were so far behind in the public phone vote that they had "no chance" of being saved.

And sure enough, the pair were the two to go in the evening's double eviction with the fewest votes.

However a spokesperson for Channel 5 and Celebrity Big Brother dismissed the report.

“Our voting information is tightly guarded, known only by a very small number of people," they said. “The final result is never known, nor disclosed until after voting closes.”

Even if the voting figures had really been leaked they wouldn't have changed much as James and Lewis' exits were hardly a shock.

The pair were the favourites to go as soon as nominations were announced and even before the lines to vote had opened.

Now eight housemates remain with a further two leaving in another double eviction on Tuesday ahead of Friday's final.

Celebrity Big Brother airs nightly on Channel 5.
