Celebrity Big Brother 2016: Petition launched to get Christopher Biggins back

A petition has been launched to try and get Christopher Bigggins back in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Biggins was axed from the a show a week ago now, leaving after making a series of comments 'capable of offence'.

A statement from Channel 5 at the time read: “Big Brother has taken the decision to remove Christopher Biggins from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

"Since entering Big Brother, he has made a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public."

They added: "Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language capable of causing widespread offence. Christopher Biggins has left the house.”

However the exit proved controversial with almost 100 complaints to Ofcom about the removal.

Now a petition has been launched to Channel 5 and owners Viacom to get Biggins back.

The petition reads: "Christopher Biggins is much loved by the British public and no one found what he says offensive, a little stupid and ignorant but not worthy of having his career and life dragged through the mud.

"All the people who have signed this petition would be grateful and very happy if Christopher Biggins was allowed to re-enter the Big Brother house."

Commentators have also taken aim at Biggins' exit, with one writing: "He didn't really do anything badly wrong, come on bb, Bear has done far more c**p!"

Despite all the complaints, it looks VERY unlikely Biggins will be back with the show ending in just two weeks' time.

Celebrity Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
