Hughie Maughan may have already got the Big Brother 2016 title all sewn up, according to the bookies.
As the dust settles from Friday’s eviction, out of it has emerged what appears to be an unbeatable favourite to win Big Brother. Hughie Maughan from Dublin now looks unstoppable as the favourite for the Big Brother crown after his odds were once again slashed to win with bookmakers Boylesports.
Hughie is now as short as 10/11 as support from punters once again went up a gear and forced traders to cut him in from 11/8. The Irish housemate is now the red hot frontrunner for the title and the top bet of the week. Jason Burrill’s dark horse status was short lived as a result of the move on Hughie as he remains priced as the 7/2 second favourite, having shortened in from 9/1.
One time favourite to win Jackson Blyton continues to drift further down the betting and is now 6/1 from 5/1, leaving him chasing his tail for the title. Andy is another housemate who has lost sight of the tile after being eased to 7/1 from 5/1.
Alex Cannon’s odds of winning have well and truly dwindled away and at the worst possible stage in the competition. The model, who entered the house priced at 5/1 and held the top spot in the betting for weeks, is now priced at 10/1 to win, his biggest odds yet. The rest of the housemates are longshots with Jayne and Evelyn both 16/1 shots, Sam priced at 50/1 and Laura the firm 60/1 outsider.
Aoife Heffron from BoyleSports said this afternoon: “Hughie is the underdog story of this series of Big Brother having been initially installed at 20/1 to win, the Dubliner has stolen the hearts of the public and is now the red hot 10/11 favourite to win. Punters just can’t get enough of Hughie and we suspect that he will continue to shorten should the bets keep flooding in like they have over the past few days.”
She added: “For a brief period it looked like Jason was about to overtake Hughie in the betting, but following an avalanche of bets for Hughie to win on Saturday night, spilling into Sunday morning, the stunt man has been left at a stalemate as the 7/2 second favourite.”
