The Big Brother 2016 housemates have had to plead for their places in the house ahead of the first annihilation.

Yesterday, Big Brother dropped an annihilation bomeshell on the group in a surprise announcement.

BB told the housemates that the day marked the beginning of a week of sudden exits but with no public polls, as instead they would decide who went.

Called to the task room, the housemates each took up seats around a white table, facing one another.

Big Brother said: "Housemates, today's task is simple, you must remain in the deliberation room until you have decided who should be evicted.

"This decision must be agreed on by everyone other than the person to be evicted.

"Once the decision is made, the chosen housemate will be evicted from the Big Brother house."

Big Brother then instructed each housemate to stand up and explain why they should be saved.

Jackson hinted he was doing the show for his son: "The reason I want to stay in the house, and get to the final, you know the reason, it's not just for me."

Evelyn said: "I feel I've been really positive in the house, I've tried not to get involved in conflict."

Laura told the group that she had never let them down and completed all the tasks for the house.

Jayne said: "I've had the most amazing time and each and every one of you are very special people."

Andy said: "It's a huge honour to be here, it's been tough and through that I've made some special close friends."

Chelsea said: "I think I've made friendships and over the past 5 weeks got to know all of you in very different ways."

Jason said: "I've taken a few things for the the team, probably more than anyone else."

Alex said he had always been there for others when they were down.

Lateysha said: "I feel like I'm just a down to earth, nice girl and I'm f**king hilarious."

Hughie said: "To get to stay to the end would be amazing... I've so much more to give."

Ryan said: "I feel I've got so much more to give, I'm a genuine honest person and don't have a nasty bone."

Sam said: "I feel like in this competition I have been very true to myself an have made some really good friends."

Who did the group decide to evict? Find out when Big Brother airs tonight at 9PM on Channel 5.
