Big Brother complaints after Sam Giffen's 'anti-gay slur' - Channel 5 respond

Big Brother 2016

Big Brother has found itself in a row over supposed homophobic language following last night's row.

Yesterday evening's show saw MAJOR bust up involving pretty much all of the housemates.

One of the main arguments involved Sam Giffen, Ryan Ruckledge and Hughie Maughan.

“Everyone’s shouting in my face. I’ve done nothing wrong”, Sam snapped in the house before remarking that he refused to be picked on by "bum boys".

Some viewers have taken Sam's remark to be a slur against Ryan and Hughie and complained to Channel 5.

One fan of the show wrote on Twitter: "Just cos Sam's gay doesn't mean it's ok for him to call Hughie and Ryan Bum Boys!! Bang out of order!! Sort him BB!! #bbuk"

A spokesperson for Channel 5 has since responded, telling DigitalSpy: "Big Brother does not tolerate unacceptable language in the Big Brother house.

"Big Brother intervenes where necessary to remind housemates of this."

Big Brother continues tonight at 9PM on Channel 5.
