Big Brother 2016 ratings drop to series low after 'live sex show'

Laura & Marco in bed

Big Brother 2016's viewing figures dipped to a series low last night for the latest highlights.

An average audience of 930,000 tuned in to yesterday evening's episode, down more than 100,000 viewers on Sundays show.

It follows Sunday night's controversial episode which saw Laura Carter and Marco Pierre White Jr get kinky in the house.

Over 250 complaints were made to TV watchdog Ofcom over the shocking episode which began with a warning about 'risky sexual activity'.

In scenes that followed, Laura was seen strangling and whipping Marco with a belt before he sucked her breasts in the garden.

Later the two hit the bedroom and got up to God knows what else under the sheets...

Many viewers have slammed the rowdy series including past housemates.

BB15 runner up Ashleigh Coyle tweeted: "This isn't Geordie shore - I don't watch Geordie shore for that reason, I didn't want BB to turn into it."

Meanwhile ITV2's Love Island continues with strong figures.

An average of 730,000 viewers tuned in last night for the closest gap between it and BB so far this year.

The second series of the revamped format begun with 650,000 viewers last month and last Friday enjoyed a high of 1.4 million.
