The Big Brother 2016 housemates will be paid £30 a day, it has been revealed.
Show bosses are reportedly adding sort-of-celebrities to the line up in a bid to boost ratings.
Names including X Factor's Katie Waissel as well as models Kaura Carter and Celia Kay have been tipped to be a part of the new series.
Such 'stars' have usually made it into the Celebrity series where they would expect a fee of around £50,000 for up to a month inside the house.
Instead they'll be paid just £30 expenses for the duration of their stay, meaning a total of less than £3,000 if they last to the end.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "It might be Big Brother but it’s ‘small change’ for what these girls could have got.”
Of course if they actually manage to win the show then the rewards could be a lot bigger than any fee they may have got for appearing on CBB.
While there's nothing but bragging rights up for grabs in the Celebrity series, the winner of this year's Big Brother stands to take home £100,000.
And other prizes aren't uncommon with a total of £150,000 being given away last year in addition to a brand new car being offered.
Big Brother 2016 begins on Tuesday night on Channel 5 from 9PM.
